US Rapper, Lil Durk Arrested On Murder-for-Hire Charge Tied To Killing Of Quando Rondo’s Friend

Lil Durk, known off-stage as Durk Banks, was arrested on Thursday in connection to an alleged murder-for-hire scheme, police records show.

The rapper, 32, is being held without bail at the Broward County Correctional Facility in Florida and awaits extradition to California to face a federal charge, The Mirror US reports.

The arrest follows the fatal shooting of Lul Pab in August 2022. Quando Rondo and his friend Lul Pab were ambushed at a petrol station in Los Angeles, where gunfire broke out.

Lul Pab succumbed to his injuries in a hospital, while the suspects reportedly escaped in a white sedan.

Lil Durk’s mugshot has since surfaced, showing him against a grey backdrop in a yellow T-shirt.

His Only the Family (OTF) crew members—Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston—were also recently charged, accused of executing the 2022 shooting, with Quando Rondo allegedly as the intended target.

According to a US District Court filing obtained by Music Times, the indictment claims that an unidentified OTF member “provided incentives such as financial rewards to people willing to kill Quando Rondo.”

Authorities believe the motive relates to Quando Rondo’s supposed involvement in the 2020 killing of rapper King Von in Atlanta, where a confrontation escalated to gunfire, fatally injuring King Von, who later died in hospital.

The indictment details allegations of murder-for-hire and using a machine gun in a violent incident that resulted in death.
