The United States is preparing to provide Ukraine with an additional $725 million in military aid, which includes counter-drone systems and munitions for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS). This support may suggest that longer-range missiles are being sent to the battlefield.
Two U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity ahead of the official announcement, did not confirm whether the HIMARS munitions include the highly sought-after Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS). Ukraine has been actively lobbying for these longer-range missiles to expand its ability to strike targets deeper within Russia.
