Canada Expels Six Indian Diplomats Over Alleged Violent Criminal Activities

Canada expelled six Indian diplomats, including the high commissioner, following evidence of violent criminal activities linked to the Indian government.

This was confirmed by a senior Canadian government official, Associated Press reports.

The official, who requested anonymity, disclosed this on Monday, stating that they were not authorised to speak publicly on the matter.

Earlier, India announced the withdrawal of its diplomats after rejecting Canada’s claim that the Indian ambassador was a “person of interest” in an assassination case.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had previously mentioned credible allegations linking the Indian government to the killing of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

In response, India dismissed the accusations, calling them “absurd.”
